Brooke Olson and Jordyn Thorson Lead the Way for the Jimmie Women in Season Opener

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The University of Jamestown women's cross country team competed at the Augustana Twilight, hosted by Augustana University Friday evening.

20 teams and 239 runners made up the field of the 5k. The Jimmies placed 16th as a team and had an average time of 20:02.

Berlyn Schutz from the University of Nebraska was the individual winner in a time of 16:20, and the University of Nebraska won the team competition with 33 points.

"Both teams did a decent job to open the season. This opener gives us a lot of knowledge to know what we need to work on in the coming weeks. Racing with limited squads definitely hurt us in the results, but we're looking forward to racing full teams at our next meet!"
