Women's wrestling beats Minot State in home opener

The University of Jamestown women's wrestling team defeated Minot State University 29-14 in the opening home dual of the season Monday evening at Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Minot State won the first two contested matches (116, 123) after both teams were open at 101 and Jenna Gerhardt won by forfeit at 109.
- Samantha Weeks won by 10-0 tech fall over Bella Hernandez at 130 to tie the dual at 9-9.
- Riley Rangel (136) earned the first pin of the night, taking down Keela Kary in 1:29.
- Minot State got a pin at 143, once again tying the dual at 14-14.
- Allyssa Johnson (155) and Grace Todhunter (191) each won by forfeit.
- Hannah Sjostrom (170) picked up UJ's second pin in the final contested match of the night, needing 59 seconds to defeat Michelle Klein.
