Jimmies set two new team records at Roger Ahlman Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Two new team records and three NAIA B cuts happened for the University of Jamestown women's swimming and diving team at the two-day Roger Ahlman Invitational, hosted by Macalester College.

JIMMIE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Sulinke Vandenberg set a new team record in the 100 back, finishing second in a time of 58.96 seconds.
  • Cerys Williams set a new team record in the 100 breast, placing fourth with a time of 1:09.58, which also made the NAIA B cut.
  • Vandenberg was fourth in the 50 free (24.85) and Williams was seventh in the 200 IM (2:15.24), with both time also making the NAIA B Cut.
  • Williams also turned in a second-place finish in the 200 fly (2:12.84) and was fifth in the 100 fly (59.56), while Vandenberg took third in the 100 fly (58.85) and seventh in the 200 back (2:11.64).
  • Other top-16 individual places went to Jada Shorter (1-meter diving, third), Emma Pickrel (100 breast, 7th; 100 fly, 15th; and 200 breast, 16th), and Megan Maxwell (100 breast, 15th).
  • The 800 free relay team (Vandenberg, Williams, Nia Hanson, and Sofia Labrozzi) placed sixth, as did the 200 free relay team (Labrozzi, Williams, Pickrel, and Vandenberg).
  • Chara May, Williams, Hanson, and Labrozzi teamed up for the 200 medley relay and finished ninth.
  • The  400 free relay team of Vandenberg, Labrozzi, Pickrel, and Hanson was 10th, and the 400 medley relay team of May, Keelie Renwick, Abigail Martin, and Mya Wimer placed 14th.
  • As a team, Jamestown was fifth of nine teams with 285 points.
  • Season bests were turned in by Vandenberg (50 free), Williams (200 IM), May (200 IM), Hanson (1650 free), Renwick (50 free), and Labrozzi (50 free).
