Three unanswered goals drop Jimmies to defeat against Bellevue

JAMESTOWN, N.D.— The University of Jamestown women's soccer team was first on the scoreboard Saturday afternoon, but Bellevue (Neb.) University bagged the final three goals to come away with a 3-1 victory at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jamestown was held to one shot in the first 20 minutes of the match, while the Bruins had three shots saved by Jimmie keeper Isa Garcia.
  • Bre Oettle opened the scoring with a goal in the 21st minute. Oettle dribbled down the far sideline and once inside the box, let a shot fly into the back of the net, beating Bellevue goalie Alessia Ricciardi.
  • The Bruins drew level in the 40th minute on a goal by Lauren Chetty, and the match was 1-1 at halftime.
  • In the 52nd minute, Maju Serrano put Bellevue ahead 2-1 with a shot from 15 yards out.
  • Mia Hurt added an insurance goal for the Bruins in the 58th minute.
  • Jamestown was outshot 10-6 overall and 9-2 in shots on target.
  • Garcia made three saves for UJ and Ricciardi had one for the Bruins.
