Vega Canada scores four as Jimmies beat Williams Baptist

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.— Four goals from Vega Canada helped lead the Jimmie women's soccer team to a 7-3 win over Williams Baptist University Saturday afternoon at WBU Soccer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Canada's first goal came 96 seconds into the match, then she added a second to give UJ a 2-0 lead in the 25th minute.
- The Jimmies took 16 shots, putting 9 of them on target, in the first half. The score was 2-0 at the half.
- Canada completed the natural hat trick in the 47th minute with an assist from Gaby Sarkis.
- Eight minutes later, Eunity Pate scored the first of her two goals to make it 4-0 Jamestown. Olivia Cullen was credited with the assist.
- Sidney Mikes added to the Jimmie lead with her goal in the 55th minute, and 38 seconds later, Pate pushed the score to 6-0 on a goal assisted by Bre Oettle.
- WBU picked up three goals in a little over 14 minutes to cut UJ's lead to 6-3 after 80 minutes.
- Canada rounded out the scoring in the 86th minute with Jamestown's seventh goal of the match. It was the highest goal output for UJ since they won 9-0 against Mount Marty (S.D.) on October 12, 2022.
- Allyson Johnson earned her first collegiate win, stopping four shots in 68 minutes.
- Shots were 34-11 in favor of Jamestown, as were shots on goal (21-7).
