Jimmies blank Dakota Wesleyan in the rain

The University of Jamestown women's soccer team won their third one-goal match of the season, defeating Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University 1-0 Wednesday evening at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jamestown outshot DWU 7-3 including a 2-1 advantage on shots on goal, but the score was 0-0 at the half.
  • Sidney Mikes nearly gave the Jimmies a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute following a corner kick by Ryley Bedard, but her shot hit the crossbar.
  • UJ got on the board in the 56th minute as Miarosa Gyllenswan shifted past a DWU defender, moved the ball over to her left foot, and put the ball by the Tiger keeper.
  • The Jimmies kept on the offensive for the majority of the second half, winning 13 corner kicks and outshooting DWU 10-1 overall.
