Jimmies run unbeaten streak to five with win at Northwestern

 ORANGE CITY, Iowa-- The University of Jamestown women's soccer team won its third straight match while pushing its unbeaten streak to five matches with a 4-0 victory over Northwestern College Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Four different players scored for the Jimmies on the day, beginning with Ryley Bedard's unassisted goal in the fifth minute.
  • Miarosa Gyllenswan doubled the UJ lead in the 17th minute on an assist from Sidney Mikes.
  • Jamestown had a 6-5 edge in shots (4-2 on target) in the first half.
  • Just 56 seconds into the second half, Kyla Yamada made it 3-0 for the Jimmies with an unassisted goal.
  • Elise Gillis finished off the scoring in the 72nd minute with her unassisted tally that made the score 4-0.

FOR THE JIMMIES

  • Tea Pence made two saves over the first 74 minutes between the sticks before Anna Cole came on to finish the Jimmies' second clean sheet of the season.
  • Haley Nelson and Vega Canada also had shots on goal.
  • Jamestown had a 13-9 advantage in shots (9-4 on target).
