SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The Jimmie women's soccer team ended its streak of 235 minutes and 44 seconds without a goal, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Morningside University Saturday evening.

Morningside had three shots on goal against UJ keeper Tea Pence inside of the first seven minutes, the third of which resulted in a goal by Lisann Evert, giving her team a 1-0 lead.

Jamestown fended off a strong Mustang offensive in the opening half as Pence turned away eight of the nine shots she faced to keep the score 1-0 going into the break. UJ managed just one shot on goal and six in total, while Morningside ended the half with 17 total shots.

Breanna Oettle took a pass from Vega Canada in the 56th minute and got the ball past Mustang keeper Isabel Ter Weeme to tie the score at 1-1. Only 32 seconds elapsed before the Jimmies had their second goal, with Canada finding the back of the net to make it 2-1.

Those would be the only shot attempts for UJ in the remainder of the match as Morningside would dominate possession. In the 87th minute, the home side's persistence paid off with Roselynn Bosman bringing her side level on assists by Evert and Ida Carlsson.

The Jimmies (0-4-2 overall, 0-1-1 GPAC) will look to get into the win column Wednesday when they host Hastings (Neb.) College at 7:30 p.m.
