Women's soccer falls to Midland in GPAC opener

FREMONT, Neb.-- The University of Jamestown women's soccer team lost 3-0 at Midland University Thursday evening in the GPAC opener for both teams.

UJ falls to 0-4-1 overall (0-1-0 GPAC) while the Warriors improve to 4-2-1 (1-0-0 GPAC).

The Jimmies return to action Saturday when they face Morningside (Iowa) at 7:30 p.m.

Just under two minutes from halftime, Midland netted their first goal to take a 1-0 lead into the break.

Goals in the 48th and 79th minutes rounded out the Warrior scoring.

Vega Canada had UJ's only shot on goal, coming in the 32nd minute. The Jimmies had seven shots toal in the match.

Tea Pence made six saves and Anna Cole had three.
