HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Jimmies and Tigers went back-and-forth with buckets the first five minutes of the first quarter. The Tigers began to pull ahead with a three-pointer at 4:09 remaining, making the score 14-9. 
  • Sarah Lenz responded with her second three-pointer aiding the Jimmies to only trail two. After that the Tigers put up nine, while the Jimmies put up four. The quarter ended 23-16.  
  • The Jimmies fought to catch up the second quarter, getting the score within five (25-20). However, then the Tigers went on 9-0 lead (29-20). 
  • The Jimmies struggled to come back, and the half ended in the Tigers favor, 44-33. 
  • The Jimmies came out with seven points to start the second half. Three-pointer by Kia Tower and twos by Jailyn Martinson and Audrey Rodakowski put them within four (40-44). 
  • The Jimmies kept close behind the Tigers getting within two points multiple times. A lapse in scoring but them back 47-57 to the Tigers with 2:26 remaining. 
  • Two threes by Kate Busek got the Jimmies within five. The Tigers scored three points in the remaining 1:19 to end the quarter ahead 63-56. 
  • Busek started the fourth with another three. The Tigers responded with two of their own. 
  • The Jimmies got within five with 1:36 remaining but were forced to foul and were unable to catch up. The game ended in the Tigers favor, 81-71.
