Samarah Martinez and Trinity Gregg named GPAC First Team All-Conference

Four University of Jamestown softball players received Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason honors Tuesday as the conference office announced its All-Conference Team.

Samarah Martinez (infield) and Trinity Gregg (outfield) were named to the first team. Martinez was the only Jimmie to play in all 46 games in 2024, posting a .333 batting average with four home runs and 37 RBI. She led the team in at-bats (162), hits (54), RBI (37), and doubles (14), while tying for the team lead in extra-base hits (18).  Gregg batted .373 as the Jimmies' leadoff hitter, finishing with 53 hits, including a team-best eight triples. Gregg led UJ with 40 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. 

Abby Blair (utility) was selected to the second team. Blair batted .397 with 27 hits in 68 at-bats, including seven doubles, a home run, and 10 RBI. In the circle, Blair pitched to a 10-8 record in 22 appearances (17 starts) with a 2.01 earned run average. She pitched 104 1/3 innings and completed 11 games. 

Gentrey Turin (infield) was an honorable mention choice. Turin batted .324 with 33 hits in 102 at-bats, nine doubles and 18 RBI. Her five stolen bases tied for third on the team, and along with Gregg appeared in 45 of 46 games this season.

Jamestown finished the season with a 30-16 record.
