Robinson 2nd for Jimmie men at Dragon Open

MOORHEAD, Minn.—Six members of the Jimmie men's wrestling team competed in the Dragon Open on Sunday, hosted by Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

JIMMIE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Chance Robinson had the best finish for UJ on Sunday, taking second place in the White Division of the 285 pound weight class. Robinson went 3-1 on the day, including a 10-4 decision over Jordan Loose of Minnesota North-Itasca, an 18-0 tech fall over Robert Gamble in the quarterfinals, and a 6-1 decision over St. John's Cody Kwak.
  • Cutter Jones took third in the White Division of the 157 pound bracket. Jones was 3-1 on the day, winning by 16-0 tech fall over Chance Burns of Southwest Minnesota State, 5-1 decision over Taedon Nichols of Ridgewater College, and 15-0 tech fall over Kristian Orloff of Minnesota North-Itasca.
  • Austin Morris (285) picked up both of UJ's pins Sunday. Morris pinned St. John's Kenneth Torres in 1:43 and Lucas Urness of Northland CTC in 1:12 to finish 2-2 on the day.
  • Ezra Mabe went 1-2 at 197 pounds, with an 11-4 decision over Eric Jurek of St. John's.
