Caydann Cox named third team NAIA All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2024 Men's Volleyball All-America Teams along with Player and Coach of the Year on Thursday.

Caydann Cox from the University of Jamestown was named to the third team. Cox finished the season with 264 kills and hit .357 while averaging 3.57 kills per set. Defensively, Cox had 163 digs and 46 total blocks (21 solo). He also had 21 service aces and recorded a .973 serve reception percentage.

The NAIA All-America Volleyball teams are selected by the NAIA-MVCA Executive Committee. The All-America Selection Committee must select players from a pool of candidates from the All-Conference/Independent Teams.

Jared Goldberg of The Master's (Calif.) was named the 2024 NAIA Coach of the Year in his fourth season as head coach of the Mustangs. Goldberg improved the team's record to 24-2, while the Mustangs saw their second through fifth No. 1 rank in program history. Goldberg coached his team to the championship match for the first time in program history.

Patrick Paragas of The Master's was named the 2024 NAIA Player of the Year. Paragas finished the season ranked first in the nation in assists per set (10.51) and second in assists (925) and service aces (38). The setter directed the Mustangs offense to a season attack percentage of 0.346 while seeing the team to its first championship match appearance. Paragas recorded a season-high 55 assists vs. Menlo (Calif.) on March 2.

The Master's had the largest number of All-Americans, with six total honorees. Four of the six honorees were on the second team, and one was on both the first and third teams.
