Men's volleyball posts straight-set win over Kansas Wesleyan

The ninth-ranked University of Jamestown men's volleyball team won for the seventh straight match and remained unbeaten in conference play as they swept Kansas Wesleyan University Friday evening at Harold Newman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jamestown started the match on an 11-0 run and never looked back as they took the opener 25-6.
  • The Jimmies were error-free on the attack, hitting .727 for the set, compared to (-.600) for KWU. Five of the Coyotes' six points in set one came via UJ error.
  • Holding on to a slim 9-6 lead in the second set, UJ got a kill from Tysen Myers that started a 4-0 run to build a seven-point cushion.
  • Caydann Cox, Caylor Cox, and Tomas Swiderski each had kills to account for the last three Jimmie points in a 25-16 win.
  • Jamestown did not allow KWU to get any closer than 7-5 in the third set, gradually pulling away with a pair of 3-0 and 4-0 runs.
  • After the Coyotes cut the lead to 16-12, UJ won eight of the next nine points and held on for a 25-14 win.
