Coach Clark started the Jimmie Women’s Cross Country program in 1979 and has been the program’s only head coach. Clark has also been the Jimmie Men’s Cross Country head coach since 2018. He coaches the UJ distance and middle distance runners during indoor and outdoor track seasons.

In his years at the University of Jamestown, Clark's women’s track & field and cross country teams have won 41 conference team championships, 17 NAIA District 12 or Great Plains Region championships, and he has been named District, Region, or Conference Coach of the Year 30 times. He has also coached 115 Jimmies who have earned All-American honors, including 5 individual National Champions, during his tenure.

A native of Woodworth, N.D., Clark has a degree in Civil Engineering, a profession at which he worked for four years before returning to school to enter education and coaching.

He was inducted into the Jamestown College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985.
