Jimmies shut out Waldorf for road win

FOREST CITY, Iowa—The University of Jamestown men's soccer team won their first road match of the season Thursday evening, defeating Waldorf University 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Three first-half goals supplied all of the offense the Jimmies would need against their newest conference rival Waldorf.
  • Frankie Parkinson scored for the second time in as many matches when he gave UJ a 1-0 in the third minute. James Moody was credited with the assist.
  • Moody bagged a goal of his own in the 15th minute, with Jacob Holtz getting the assist.
  • Daniel Aburto made it 3-0 a little under ten minutes from halftime on an assist by Kael Calder.
  • Jamestown had six of their 10 first-half shots on target, while the Warriors had just one of their four shots on frame.
  • Overall shots were even in the second half (5-5), and as in the first half, UJ allowed only one shot on goal to Waldorf.

FOR THE JIMMIES

  • Charlie Clark had two saves to earn his second clean sheet.
  • Aburto, Parkinson, and Wade McWhorter all had two shots on goal.
  • Jamestown has won the last two meetings against Waldorf.

FOR THE WARRIORS

  • Charlie Austin-Ross made seven saves in goal.
  • Lucas Berte and Lucas Hanchar each had a shot on goal for Waldorf.
