HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Chargers started out with an 8-3 lead and the Jimmies got back within one but couldn't quite catch up as the Chargers continued scoring.

  • The Jimmies and Chargers kept a close game in the remaining minutes of the half, the lead going back and forth between them.
  • Two free throws from Silas Bennion at 1:12 remaining ended the half for points. The Jimmies led 36-35.
  • The Chargers started up the second scoring seven points to the Jimmies two, leaving them up 43-38. Bennion responded with a three and a Jimmy Llinas steal led to another three by Will Cordes bringing the Jimmies ahead one.
  • The Chargers took their lead back and a three brought them up six with 12 minutes left. Jimmies scored four unanswered points to get within two.
  • Points again went back and forth, as the Jimmies battled to take the lead. They were able to tie the Chargers a few times and finally found a 67-66 lead with 7:21 to go.
  • The remaining seven minutes were a hard-fought battle. With 25 seconds left, Bennion hit a three to lead by one. But the Chargers put up a two with 11 seconds left and that ended the game.
