HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Blue Hawks came out strong in the first half, leaving the Jimmies to play catch up. A three by Colby Vazquez tied the score 14-14 with 13:08 left of the half. Vazquez scored two more threes in the next six minutes, making him 3-4 in the half. 
  • The Blue Hawks gained their lead again, the Jimmies managing to tie them but not get ahead. Four Blue Hawk threes put the Jimmies down 28-36 with 2:59 left in the half. 
  • Will Cordes responded with five points and Jimmy Llinas made free throws to end the half down four (35-39). 
  • With the help of Spencer Barr's hot hand, the Jimmies found their first lead in the second half (50-49). Barr came off the bench and had 11 points in three minutes, 19 points in the half.
  • The teams took turns with the lead until another Vazquez three gave the Jimmies the edge they needed at 11:47 left to play. The Blue Hawks trailed the rest of the game.
  • The Jimmies largest lead was 11 points with 1:39 left of the game. The home win went to the Jimmies (95-89), as they found redemption over the Blue Hawks. 

FOR THE JIMMIES

  • From the bench, Barr and Vazquez had 23 points and 20 points, respectively.
  • Silas Bennion put up 16 and Cordes had 13. 
  • Jimmy Llinas grabbed 10 rebounds and had 6 blocks. With one more point he would've had a double-double.
  • The team shot 12-24 outside the arc for 50%, and 33-62 inside for 53.2%. 

FOR THE BLUE HAWKS

  • Cordell Stinson led in points with 20.
