THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Blue Hawks led the entire first half, but the Jimmies made an impressive comeback starting at 7:28 left in the half (9-31). 
  • The Jimmies put up 22 points to the Blue Hawks six points in the remaining 7:28, leaving the Jimmies trailing (31-37). 
  • Silas Bennion led the first half from the bench with 13 points.
  • The Jimmies and Blue Hawks went back-and-forth with points the start of the second half, however the Blue Hawks managed to keep their lead. 
  • The Jimmies managed to tie the score (54-54) at 12:09 remaining by outscoring the Blue Hawks 10-2 over two minutes. The Jimmies soon pulled ahead with two pointers from Jimmy Llinas and Will Cordes.
  • The Blue Hawks managed to get their lead back at 9:08 (61-60), eventually improving it to 68-60. 
  • With help from points by Bennion (8), Cole Woodford (2), and Will Cordes (2) the Jimmies tied the score, 72-72, to end the second half going into overtime. 
  • Overtime lead went back-and-forth between the Jimmies and Blue Hawks. With 2:50 remaining the Blue Hawks went on a run to pull ahead 84-76. 
  • With only 24 seconds left the Jimmies scored six points to the Blue Hawks three but still trailed five points ending the game 82-87. 
  • Bennion had eight of the Jimmies ten points in overtime.  
  • 55 of the Jimmies points came from reserves.

FOR THE JIMMIES

  • The Jimmies highest scorer came from the bench, Silas Bennion with 38 points.
  • Jimmy Llinas (10) scored double digits as well.
  • Reid Gastner and Llinas each had 13 rebounds.
  • The Jimmies made 11 of 13 free throws.

FOR THE BLUE HAWKS

  • Four players scored in double digits Kose Eguble (21), Trey Stevens (18), Gus Wright (15), and Cordell Stinson (10).
