THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Jimmies and Comets went back and forth with points the first nine minutes. The largest lead being only four points by the Comets. 
  • Then, the Comets started to gain more of a lead scoring 19 points to the Jimmies 11 points, ending the first half 37-26. 
  • Will Cordes (10) and Covy Kelly (6) led Jimmies in scoring for the first half.
  • The Jimmies went on a bit of a run to start the second half scoring nine points, leaving them trailing the Comets by only three. 
  • The Jimmies continued to chip away, finally pulling ahead of the Comets with the help of Cole Woodford's back-to-back 3-pointers with ten minutes remaining (46-45). 
  • The two teams went back and forth for points the next four minutes. At the 5:54 minute mark, the Jimmies began to pull away with Woodford and Kelly's back-to-back threes. The Jimmies largest lead was seven points, with three-pointer by Silas Bennion
  • The remaining 5:54 minutes, the Jimmies scored 16 points to the Comets 12, winning the game 69-66. 
  • Leading second half scoring was Woodford with 16 points. 

FOR THE JIMMIES

  • Cordes and Woodford shared the lead in points with 16 each. Bennion scored 11 off the bench.  
  • The Jimmies outrebounded the Comets by six (27-21), Reid Gastner and Colby Vazquez leading the Jimmies with five each. 
  • The Jimmies made 10 threes, averaging 40% from the three-point line. 

FOR THE COMETS

  • Jamison Kramer (13) and Thomas Gieske (12) led the Comets in points.
