Ninth-ranked Jimmies clinch share of GPAC crown with win at Briar Cliff
SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The ninth-ranked Jimmie men's basketball team bounced back from a Friday night loss at Morningside, defeating Briar Cliff University 76-69 Saturday afternoon to clinch at least a share of the GPAC title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies trailed 17-15 at the 10:57 mark before Mason Walters knocked down a three-pointer that started a 10-1 run.
- Colby Vazquez gave UJ its biggest lead of the half (25-18) with 6:25 left in the half.
- BCU used a 10-1 run of their own to retake the lead on Quinn Vesey's basket just inside of three minutes remaining.
- Jamestown held the Chargers scoreless for the rest of the half and led by one at the start of the second.
- In the second half, UJ trailed for a little less than four minutes, then Cooper Olson's basket swung the lead the Jimmies' way.
- Reid Gastner finished a 10-0 run featuring made shots by five different players that made it 41-34 with 14:23 left.
- Jamestown kept between a three and ten-point lead, relying heavily on Walters, who had 21 of UJ's final 31 points.
JAMESTOWN GAME NOTES
- UJ shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59) from the floor, including 33.3 percent (8-of-24) on three-point attempts.
- Walters ended with 33 points and nine rebounds.
- Cole Woodford had 13 points and Will Cordes 10.
- Cordes also had six assists.
BRIAR CLIFF GAME NOTES
- The Chargers shot 50 percent (25-of-50) from the floor, including 30 percent (3-of-10) on three-point attempts.
- Jade Kleinhesselink led BCU with 20 points, followed by Kyle Boerhave and Matthew Stilwil with 14.
