#10 Jimmies use balanced attack to down Dickinson State

All five starters reached double figures for the 10th-ranked University of Jamestown men's basketball team as the Jimmies defeated Dickinson State (N.D.) University 73-55 Friday night in non-conference action at Harold Newman Arena.

Jamestown won for the fourth straight game and improves to 13-2 overall while the Blue Hawks remain in search of their first victory this season at 0-11.

John Argue (SO/Houston, TX) led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Marc Kjos (JR/Lake City, MN) added 11. Will Cordes (SO/Shakopee, MN), Cole Woodford (SO/Redwood Falls, MN), and Brady Birch (SR/Melrose, MN) all finished with 10 points each.

UJ led by as many as 13 in the first half after Devan Praska (SR/Thompson, ND)'s basket made it 30-17 with just over four minutes before halftime. The Blue Hawks went on a 13-3 run and made it a three-point game after Bryce Knox scored to cut the lead to 33-30 with three seconds left. Kjos banked in a three-point shot from beyond half court at the buzzer for a six-point Jimmie lead at the break.

Kjos opened the scoring in the second half for UJ, the first two points in an 11-0 run that made it 47-30 at the 16:14 mark. DSU would get as close as 53-45 after a pair of Travon Hamilton free throws, only to have Argue and Birch team up for the Jimmies' next 15 points over the next 4:51.

Jamestown outshot Dickinson State .492 to .288 and had a 49-35 advantage in rebounds. DSU capitalized on 14 Jimmie turnovers, turning them in to 18 points. Aushanti Potts-Woods was the only Blue Hawk in double figures, scoring 15 points off the bench.

The Jimmies are back in action Sunday afternoon, hosting Presentation (S.D.) College at 4 p.m.
