Jimmies hit century mark in Senior Day win over Midland

Mason Walters (SO/Jamestown, ND) scored 21 points and had 15 rebounds to help lead the University of Jamestown men's basketball team to a 100-74 win over Midland (Neb.) University Saturday afternoon at Harold Newman Arena.

It was the sixth straight win for the Jimmies, who improved to 18-5 overall and 14-4 in the GPAC. Midland falls to 4-16 overall and 2-15 in the conference.

Marc Kjos (SO/Lake City, MN) added 18 points on six-of-eight three-point shooting, while Allante' Pickens (SR/Chicago, IL) added 13 and Cole Woodford (FR/Redwood Falls, MN) 10.

Midland led 15-6 following a three by Jake Rueschhoff, but Jamestown tied the game at 15 on a Will Cordes (FR/Shakopee, MN) three and two more by Kjos.

Jamestown took the lead for good following a pair of free throws by Pickens with 7:40 before halftime.

Kjos scored the Jimmies' final nine points of the half and the lead was 48-38 at the break.

Pickens opened the second half with another three-pointer, and a 19-9 run capped off by two Brock Schrom (SR/Grand Rapids, MN) free throws made it a 20-point game.

The Warriors went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 12, only to have Jamestown counter with a 9-0 run of their own to end the threat,

Tanner Slag (SR/New Salem, ND)'s three-pointer gave the Jimmies their third 100-point game of the season, and second in their last three.

Rueschhoff led all scorers with 26 for Midland. Bo Sandquist added 22.

UJ is back in action Wednesday night at Northwestern (Iowa) for an 8 p.m. start.
