Jake Lehman is in his first year as the Jimmies' defensive backs coach. 

Most recently, Lehman was the defensive backs coach for New Mexico Highlands University. Before that, Jake was the wide receivers coach at Presentation College after serving as a volunteer defensive backs coach at the University of Northern Colorado, where he helped coach third-team All-Conference Big Sky safety Jerone Jackson.

Prior to UNCO, Lehman coached at Resurrection Christian School for three years in Loveland, Colo. He was the varsity special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach, as well as the JV defensive coordinator.
Before joining the staff of Resurrection Christian, Lehman coached at Greeley West High School as the defensive backs for one year in Greeley, Colo.

Lehman was a graduate assistant at Concordia College (Minn.), for two years, assisting with the defensive backs He also spent time as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, Fargo South High School for two years, one of which they won the ND 3A State Championship.

Lehman has his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Sports Coaching. He graduated from Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in
Exercise Science and an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning and Coaching.
 
Coach Lehman and his wife Nicole have two daughters, Marlie Su and Ryn. They reside in Jamestown.
