Jimmies split with Saint John's
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.-- The University of Jamestown Division 2 hockey team defeated Saint John's University 3-1 Saturday to salvage a sweep of their weekend series against the Johnnies.
SJU won the opener 6-4 on Friday. The Jimmies return home to host Bethel (Minn.) College December 2-3.
Quin Garrison (SR/Prince George, British Columbia) scored 37 seconds into Friday's game but the Johnnies got the next three goals, taking a 3-1 lead at 3:18 of the second period. Josh Hoffman (JR/McMurray, Pa.) (5:14) and Tyler Ralph (FR/St. Albert, Alberta) (8:47) tied the game heading into the third period.
Zayne Fay (SO/Mandan, N.D.) put UJ in front, scoring at 4:56 of the third to make it 4-3. SJU tied the game at 9:40, then scored twice in a 44-second span late in the period to put the game away.

Josh Moe (JR/Mandan, N.D.) had a first-period goal and Quin Garrison scored in the second period as UJ took a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes. The Johnnies cut the lead in half with a goal at 8:29 of the third, but Alex Church (SO/Troy, Ohio) put home an empty-net goal at 18:32 to help seal the win for the Jimmies.
Jamestown improves to 8-7-1 overall and 7-6-1 in the WCCHA.
