Schaack resigns as head women's hockey coach

University of Jamestown Athletics has announced that head women's hockey coach Amber Schaack has resigned, effective immediately, to pursue other career opportunities.

"We could not be more grateful for what Amber has done as the first coach of UJ women's hockey," said director of athletics Austin Hieb. "The foundation she has put together will serve the university well going forward. She has been an asset to our athletic department and someone I've truly enjoyed working with. We wish Amber the best in her next chapter and have no doubt that she will be successful."

"I am excited for the new opportunity that I have been given, but I am going to miss my players and all of those that helped start this program," said Schaack, who will be attending Emerging Digital Academy in Fargo to pursue a career in software engineering. "I can't thank UJ enough for giving me the chance to bring women's college hockey to Jamestown. I wish my girls nothing but the best and can't wait to see them continue to do great things!"

A national search for Schaack's replacement will begin immediately.
