MINOT, N.D.-- The 11th-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team took a 1-0 lead into the third period against No. 4 Minot State University, but the Beavers responded with two goals in the final twenty minutes to take a 2-1 win Wednesday evening at Maysa Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Neither team scored in the first period as the Jimmies were outshot 6-2.
  • Jayden Baker's ninth goal of the season, assisted by Gaby Schroder, gave UJ a 1-0 lead at the 15:06 mark of the second period.
  • Minot State tied the game at 9:16 of the third with a goal from Paige Ackerman, then went ahead 2-1 at 14:45 on a power play goal by Krissy Rink.
  • UJ was 0-for-7 on the power play while MSU was 1-for-4.
  • Makenzie Gibson made 28 saves in goal for the Jimmies.
