Jimmie women's hockey blanked by No. 5 Maryville

The 6th-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team lost for the first time since October 5, as No. 5 Maryville University defeated the Jimmies 2-0 Sunday afternoon at John L. Wilson Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Neither team scored in the first period, which saw the Saints outshoot the Jimmies 12-4.
  • Maryville scored 57 seconds into the second period for a 1-0 lead, and the score remained 1-0 as UJ successfully killed off three penalties in the frame.
  • The Saints extended their lead to 2-0 with a power play goal scored by Ana Kahlhammer, who also had the game's first goal, at 9:04 of the third.
  • Jamestown had only one shot on goal in the third and were outshot 42-9 overall.
  • Lilah Drew tied her season-high with 40 saves in goal.
