Bio

Jamestown College alumnus Tom Hager enters his 21st season as head coach of the Jimmies.
 
In 2019, the Jimmies finished with a record of 35-18, won the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament, and advanced to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament in Santa Barbara, Calif. In 20 seasons, Hager has compiled a record of 689-289-3.
 
Jamestown won a school record 52 games in 2016. In 2015, the Jimmies won the NSAA regular season championship, while in 2014, the Jimmies won the NSAA regular season and tournament championships, also achieving a #24 ranking in the NAIA national poll. The Jimmies concluded their 2014 season by advancing to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS.
 
In previous seasons, Hager led the Jimmie program to five conference tournament championships (2004, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2014) and has coached the Jimmies to eight regular season Conference Championships, fourteen Regional appearances, three Regional Championships (2004, 2006, 2008), and three Super Regionals (2004, 2006, 2008).  The Jimmies won the 2008 Super Regional Championship and secured two NAIA College World Series Appearances (2004, 2008).
 
His team has broken school records every year. While accomplishing many team records, Coach Hager has been recognized by his peers as the Region III Coach of the Year and ABCA Regional Coach of the Year.  He has been chosen conference coach of the year five times (2003, 2004, 2010, 2012 and 2014). Hager has coached the USA Athletes International team in Prague, Czech Republic, as well as Townsville, Australia, and Antwerp, Belgium. Prior to joining the JC staff, Hager was in Wilson, N.C., where he was head baseball coach for the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain Collegiate Summer League. He has also served as assistant coach at Michigan State University, University of North Dakota, and Jamestown College.
 
Hager has had eleven former Jimmie players sign professional contracts, including: Alex Kreis (Washington Nationals), Brent Krause (Baltimore Orioles), Erik Church (Yuma Scorpions), Scott Wallis (Winnipeg Goldeyes), Geoff White (Edmonton Cracker Cats), Jordan Blundell (Edmonton Cracker Cats), Josh Shaw (Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks), Tanner Dahl (Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks), Andy Young (St. Louis Cardinals), Marcus Blackmon (Quebec Capitales), and Quinn Irey (Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks).
 
Hager's 2004 team was inducted into the Jimmie Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2019 Hager was inducted into the Fargo Post 2 American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame.
 
Tom and his wife Judy, have two children: Jace, 26, and Maggie, 22.
