Ryan Mikkelson was named sports information director in July of 2014 prior to the fall sports season.

Mikkelson, a native of Roundup, Mont., spent the 2012-16 seasons as an assistant coach for the Jimmie softball team. He primarily worked with the infielders and under his tutelage, the Jimmies posted four of the top five team fielding percentages in school history. Jamestown had a won-loss record of 140-88 during Mikkelson's time on staff, including a school-record 18-game winning streak in 2015. He served in a wide variety of roles that included practice planning, fundraising, recruiting, and overseeing the team defense.

Mikkelson is the primary contact for the Jimmies’ 23 varsity sport programs and is responsible for promoting Jimmie athletics through website coverage, social media, live in-game statistical reports, webstreams, and postgame recaps.

He is a 1999 graduate of Jamestown College with bachelor's degrees in history/political science and English, while minoring in business administration. Mikkelson was a member of the 1995 Jimmie men's track and field team that won both the NDCAC indoor and outdoor conference championships.
