NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.-- The 17th-ranked University of Jamestown women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to four matches with a pair of victories Friday at the United Sports Academy Labor Day Classic.

Jamestown (5-4) swept Indiana University East and The Master's (Calif.) University for their fourth consecutive straight-sets victory. UJ finishes the Labor Day Classic on Saturday with a 9 AM match against Dakota State (S.D.) University, and a 3 PM match against Kansas Wesleyan University.

Aleah Zieske posted 14 kills and had seven digs, Logan Sherman had eight kills, and Darienne Johnson hit .636 with seven kills as the Jimmies evened their season record at 4-4.

Trailing 11-10 in the first set, UJ retook the lead with three straight points starting with a kill by Sherman. IU East was able to tie the score three different times, including 17-17, but back-to-back kills from Johnson and Olson put the Jimmies back in front to stay.

In the second set, Jamestown fell behind 8-3 but rallied back to take a 14-11 lead. IU East pulled within a point at 19-18, but made four straight attack errors to give UJ a five-point lead. The Jimmies got kills from Peyton Wilson and Olson to end the set and take a two-set lead in the match.

A 5-0 UJ run in the third set forced an IU East time out with the score at 13-8. Following the time out, Jamestown won five out of the next eight points to push the lead to 18-11. IU East got no closer than five, and a combo block from Olson and Sherman was the match-clinching point.

Olson and Sherman each had a kill as the Jimmies took advantage of a 5-2 run to open up a 15-10 lead. The Master's went on a 3-0 run of their own to get within two, but the Jimmies responded with eight straight to effectively end the set.

Jamestown came back from being down 7-1 and 15-11 in the third set, gradually building a 20-17 lead. Zieske and Grace Hegerle had kills to make it 22-18, then three errors by TMU accounted for the final Jimmie points of the set.
