JAMESTOWN, N.D.— Jake Simson bagged two first-half goals as the University of Jamestown men's soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win over University of Providence (Mont.) Friday evening at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Simson got the Jimmies on the board in the 35th minute after putting a right-footed blast past Argo keeper Teddy Benbow to make it 1-0. Oscar Salgado chipped a ball just past the midfield stripe that Simson played into a spin move, beating two defenders to get an open shot on goal.
- A little over six minutes later, Simson made it 2-0 after being set up Alexi George.
- UJ was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box in the 66th minute, which Oscar Salgado converted to extend Jamestown's lead to 3-0.
- Alejandro Tocino Vidal rounded out the scoring in the 74th minute with an assist by Charlie Archer.
- Shots ended 11-5 in favor of the Jimmies, including shots on goal (5-2).
- Charlie Clark stopped both shots he faced for the clean sheet.
- UJ posted their first season-opening win since a 6-0 win against Mount Marty on August 20, 2016.
