The Jimmie women's soccer team was unable to overcome a three-goal halftime deficit, losing 4-0 to the Dordt (Iowa) University Defenders Wednesday evening at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Keely Kolbrek gave Dordt the early lead with her goal in the fourth minute on a pass from Abby Worthy.
- Ellie Stuart made it 2-0 in the 8th minute, and Shayla Van Beek pushed the lead to 3-0 a little under ten minutes later.
- Karinna Tel, who assisted on Van Beek's goal, scored one of her own in the 75th minute for the final tally.
- After being outshot 6-3 overall in the first half, Jamestown turned things around in the second, outshooting Dordt by the same 6-3 margin.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Ryley Bedard (2) and Haley Nelson accounted for UJ's shots on goal.
- Tea Pence had three saves in net.
