HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams were tied with 4:29 remaining in the first quarter, but the Vikings had a 15-6 run to end the first ahead 23-14.
- Four minutes into the second quarter, the Jimmies tied up the score 28-28. Kate Cordes contributed seven points, and Kia Tower added five.
- Soon after, the Jimmies took the lead with two Tower free throws. The Vikings did not gain a lead the rest of the game.
- The half ended in the Jimmies favor, 36-30.
- The Vikings got as close as two points to the Jimmies in the third but were unable to catch them.
- With 5:28 to play in the third, the Jimmies had a 19-2 run to end the quarter up by 19 (59-40). Cordes scored nine of the 19 points.
- The Jimmies struggled to score in the fourth allowing the Vikings to get within nine points (65-56) with 2:52 left of the game.
- However, the Vikings only scored two more points while the Jimmies scored three to take their second win against Valley City State.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Kate Cordes had 18 points and Audrey Rodakowski had 16.
- Kia Tower followed with 13 points.
- Rodakowski grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.
- Cordes, Tower, and Kate Busek each grabbed six, and Sarah Lenz, Megan Oswald, and Hannah Hagel each grabbed five.
- The Jimmies outrebounded the Vikings 50-35.
FOR THE VIKINGS
- Ashlyn Diemert led in points with 19.
