Women's hockey comes up short in WMCH quarterfinals against Minot State

LYNCHBURG, Va.—The 11th-ranked University of Jamestown women's hockey team met a familiar foe in the quarterfinals of the Women's Midwest College Hockey tournament Thursday afternoon in No. 4 Minot State University. UJ, the tournament's sixth seed, lost 1-0 to the third-seeded Beavers at LaHaye Ice Center in Lynchburg, Va.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite being outshot 18-5 and having to kill off three penalties in the first period, the Jimmies were deadlocked with MSU at 0-0 going into the second period.
- The Beavers got the first goal at 7:36 of the second, as Kaitlyn Snyder scored on the power play with assists from Paige Ackerman and Paige Kozak.
- Snyder's goal ended up being the difference, and the Jimmies only mustered four shots on goal in the final period.
- Lilah Drew had 46 saves for UJ, second only to the 58 saves she recorded back on December 12.
